Scientific Culture
Within IMT, the dissemination of scientific culture is mainly driven by the Scientific, Technical and Industrial Culture Center, (CCSTI La Rotonde) at Mines Saint-Etienne.
Founded in 1999, La Rotonde brings together several local partners in order to offer all audiences, and particularly young people, exhibitions and access to knowledge all year round.
Scientific culture is also based around the mobilization of several professor-researchers who work at the schools as well as their participation throughout the year in a number of public events, whether on a national, local or even European scale, such as the Festival of Science, the Researchers’ Night, the Science Cafés, etc.
Scientific Publishing
Presses des Mines: over 300 works published in 15 different collections
Presses des Mines is a publishing house founded in 1995 in response to a clearly-identified gap in the market for advanced scientific publishing. It used the concept of micro-publishing and publishing several limited-edition copies, which was particularly well-suited to public demand at exactly the right moment.
These works are not aimed solely at specialists, but can also serve as invaluable practical sources for a wider audience.
Annales des Mines
The Annales des Mines have been published without interruption since 1794, making this one of the world’s oldest journals devoted to science, techniques and the economy.
Today, the journal is edited under the responsibility of the General Council for the Economy (CGE), itself under the authority of the Ministries for the Economy, for Industry and for Electronic Communications.
Annals of telecommunications
Founded in 1946 by the National Center for Telecommunications Studies (CNET), the Annals of Telecommunications journal has been published since 1997, under the aegis of IMT, and since 2008 has been edited by Springer, world No.2 in scientific publishing.
As an international benchmark journal indexed by the ISI, it is published six times per year, each issue bringing together a dozen or so research articles written in English and peer-reviewed.
These articles address the entire information and communication science and technology sector, from electromagnetism to uses.
