Academics partnerships

32% of our campuses have international students who have joined our schools :

either as exchange students or interns in our laboratories, or as credit transfers (academic partnerships with more than 500 universities in 70 countries)
or to obtain a degree (partnerships and free-movers)

Our students are required to spend at least one semester abroad on an academic exchange or professional internship.

Double degrees

The IMT is particularly committed to educational excellence and actively supports the long-term international experience with a strategic objective of high mobility of its own students in double degrees with its partners.

Partnerships with international institutions and laboratories of excellence

IMT has signed agreements with exceptional partners in many strategic countries. These partnerships reinforce existing collaboration and allow IMT to develop and contribute to new priority areas of research.

Collaboration with TUM (Germany)

In 2015, as part of the partnership between the French Alliance for Industry of the Future and the German platform Industrie 4.0, IMT and Technische Universität München (TUM) presented a plan to create a Franco-German Academy for Industry of the Future. Find out more

Collaboration with EULiST, a European university

Together with IMT, EULiST now brings together ten partners with complementary strengths in engineering, humanities and social sciences. EULiST aims to develop new solutions adapted to the ecological transition in order to respond to the main socio-economic challenges and build a sustainable future together with a strong focus on technology at the service of society and its transitions. Collaboration with Technion (Israel)

In 2014 IMT and Technion Israel signed an agreement to formalize their collaborative efforts for training and research in fields such as Big Data and sustainable and smart cities. In 2016, a material sciences and engineering workshop was organized at Technion. Find out more

Joint Research Unit CNRS IPAL – Image Pervasive Access Lab (Singapore)

IPAL is a bilateral French-Singaporean research laboratory created in 1999 and dedicated to the fields of indexing and image retrieval by content, and signal processing analysis. The laboratory, which became a CNRS Joint Research Unit in 2007, has six different partners. Its partners on the Singapore side include NUS (National University of Singapore) and A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Applied Research) while its French partners include CNRS, Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble), IMT and UPMC (Paris). IPAL works in the areas of medical image understanding (MIU team – Medical Image Understanding) and support for assisted living (PAWAM team – Pervasive Access & Wellness Management). Find out more

Partnership agreement with KAIST, ETRI, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Kwangwoon University (Korea)

The ILLUMINE laboratory (International Laboratory on Future Media and Services), created in 2013, brings IMT together with four major Korean research players: KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute), Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Kwangwoon University. Built around a multidisciplinary team, this laboratory draws on cutting-edge skills in software systems, service architecture, the Internet of Things and social media. One of the major challenges for this partnership is consolidating joint standardization activities, to ITU-T and IETF. The laboratory is jointly headed by two scientific directors: Noel Crespi (Télécom SudParis) and Ilyoung Chong (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies).

Partnership agreement with IIT Indore (India)

IMT signed a cooperation agreement in 2013 with IIT Indore (Indian Institute of Technology, Indore). The agreement, signed at the 2013 Technology India-France Technology Summit, covers both training and research.

Agreement with NICT (Japan)

In 2013, IMT continued its long-term collaboration NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology of Japan) by signing a new cooperation agreement, facilitating the institutions’ efforts to launch joint research projects, share information, promote mobility for research professors between the two organizations and organize shared scientific events.

Partnership with ICT4V Uruguay

In 2015, IMT and the Uruguayan technologic center ICT4V signed a partnership agreement focusing on digital technology. This agreement covers research, innovation and training in the field of digital technology and its applications in the “vertical” sectors such as energy, health/biology, transport, the environment, the agri-food industry and finance.
